The West Hills Community College District will soon be constructing a multi-megawatt photovoltaic field at West Hills College Coalinga - Farm of the Future. Producing solar energy in a concentrated location, rather than at multiple sites, will reduce overall construction and long term maintenance costs. Each School Facilities Improvement District (SFID) will contribute $1,500,000 toward the overall project cost and receive a portion of the yearly revenue for the life span of the field.
An Interconnection System Impact Study (ISIS) report is currently being by prepared by PG&E.
